Federal Government: Court to Pay 20 Billion To Sunday Igboho

One of Oyo state High Court has ordered the Department of State Services (DSS). DSS have to reward 20 billion naira to Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Igboho.

The reason for the payment is for damages done to his Soka home in Ibadan during the July 1 invasion by the DSS.

The money is for damages done to his residence in Ibadan during the July 1. The invasion by the DSS.

Initially Igboho demanded N500billion for the damages done to his home.

The court declared that the raid was illegal and criticized the DSS for the abusive use of power. And called it “arbitrary aggression and prejudices”.

The judge in charge also dismissed an application challenging its jurisdiction for hearing the suit.

The activist was arrested in Benin Republic while trying to escape to Germany following the invasion of his residence. This happened on July 1, 2021. It was stated that DSS was after his life and decided to leave the country.
