This Is How Feminist Coalition’s Responded To The Withdrawal Of ₦23m In Bitcoin Donated For #EndSARS Protest

The Feminist Coalition (Fem Co) has been accused of taking ₦23 million in bitcoin donated for the #EndSARS protest and moved it to a different account.

This information was leaked by some social media users. They claimed that it was removed on 5th of march 2021. That is almost 53,000 USD.

Last year, the Feminist Coalition raised 6 figures in US dollars through funding platforms to assist the Lekki gate protesters who risked their life on Lagos street to protest human rights violations by SARS. The group supplied the protesters with somany facilities like emergency medical treatment, gloves, masks, etc.

With the new allegation, this philanthropist was also accused of looting the money raised for #endSARS protest. Some angry protesters said the money wasn’t spent well.

 

The Feminist Coalition group has now released a statement. “The Feminist Coalition has worked tirelessly since October 2020 to make sure that every amount made from the donation of endsars reaches who need it. The group stopped receiving money due to the peaceful protest on 22/10/2020.”
