Relationship Advice: My Sick Boyfriend [Should I leave Him]

MY BOYFRIEND HAS DILATED CARDIOMYOPATHY

Hi! My bf has cardiomyopathy and I have borderline disorder

My sick boyfriend

4months ago he was going to join the navy so he needed to do a physical test, so while he was running, he passed out. We went to the hospital and we found out he has a heart problem called dilated cardiomyopathy. The doctor said it’s not serious if he takes pills (have to take it forever) he should be ok.

There are many restrictions for him; no alcohol, no intensive workout, eat very healthy etc. The problem is I also have mental illness called Borderline Disorder. After he passed out, I’m always worried about him all day and if he doesn’t reply my message in 10minutes, I become super crazy.

When he was at the hospital I saw him taking morphine and also when he was in massive heart stabbing pain. I tried so hard to get rid of those horrible memories but, I can’t. Every time I think about what happened that day I just go crazy.

Everyone told me I should breakup with him because of his heart. As you guys know, heart is one of the most important parts of the body and my boy friend is only 20.

The hospital told us it might be a genetic problem (still not sure).
When he gets cold or a bit unwell, I feel like the worst situation will happen- that he will go to the hospital again.

I love him so much and I’m worried because it’s the heart, if he lost his two legs I would not mind at all. But, his heart- related to death.
I’m scared about the future.

What if he is going to die before 30?

Passes out again?

Assuming I marry him and my kids also have same problem?
Is there anyone reading this who has a bf/gf with a health problem? What are your experiences and fears?
