Man gets Pig’s Heart Transplant. World’s first
A 57 year old man is reportedly in a stable condition after undergoing an experimental surgery to recieve a genetically modified pig’s heart.
This was after the patient was deamed ineligible for human transplants.
His name is David Bennett.
The doctor had no option but to do the surgery. It was either die or do the transplant. “I want to live. I know it’s a shot in the dark, but this is my last choice”.
These were David Bennett’s words.
The life gamble might have paid off. The operation appears to be successful.
Patient is still at the hospital, being monitored closely. He is still breathing.
The doctors are cautiously optimistic, hailing this as one step closer to solving organ shortage crises.
