Imo State: Three Men Killed At Betting Center

At Aba branch satellite market in Ehime Mbano LGA in Imo state on Friday, three men have been confirmed dead. This occurred in one of the betting shops.

According to Orlando Ikeokwu, one Chidubem Mbamara walked into a betting shop. Played a bet worth six hundred Naira. But unfortunately he wasn’t with enough money for immediate payment.

”The young man deposited one hundred and fifty Naira (N150) and gave his phone as collateral. Went home to get the remaining money. On his return, he paid four hundred Naira, remaining 50naira.  This led to serious argument between him and the manager of the bet shop.

After the argument, Chidubem Mbamara(manager of the bet shop) left, only to return with a locally made Pistol. He then shot at Henry Obi.

Not only did he shoot Henry, but the bullet affected one other person.

The shooting drew the attention of people around, and the mob pounced on Chidubem, beating him to death. Ikeokwu added two of the victims of the gunshot, Henry and Ebuka, died while receiving treatment at the hospital.
”The police therefore warn members  of the public to avoid  taking  laws into their  hands or involving themselves  in “jungle justice”. But to always endeavour  to report  matters to the appropriate  authorities like the police for necessary action.
Meanwhile, the deceased  have been deposited  in the mortuary.
