Governor Of Bauchi Criticizes Southern Governors And Ortoms ;Saying Herdsmen Carry AK47 For Defence

His Excellency Bala Mohammed the governor of Bauchi State, criticized Samuel Ortom, Benue State governor over how he handled the fulanis herdsmen.

On the closing ceremony of the 2021 Press Week of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, which was held in Bauchi State Council on Thursday, 11th Feburary at the Command Guest House. Bala Mohammed also slammed all the Southern governors. He quoted that the southern Governors are treating these Fulanis herdsmen soo badly.

The reason these Fulanis herdsmen are carrying AK-47 is because they have to protect their cattle and themselves from cattle thieves.

At the conference, when he was making his speech  ‘The Role of the Media in Promoting Peace in Nigeria,’ Bola commended the state journalists for their accurate report. Saying the journalist helps to promote peace in Nigeria.
The Southern Governors moves are very bad. How can you mistreat your follow Nigeria he said. Especially the Ondo state governor, why will Ondo state Governor give the fulani quit notice?

“The most wrong person is the Benue State governor, my brother and my colleague, Governor Ortom. He started all these.

“We have alot of Tiv indigenes working and farming in Alkaleri, in Tafawa Balewa, and Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi state; did anybody asked them to go? NO!!! This is because our constitution gave permit to allow every Nigerian citizen to live anywhere they choose to stay.

“All of the nations, we have yoruba and they are living peacefully both in the Northern and Eastern part of Nigeria and nobody have told them to go. We shouldn’t force the Fulanis to go.

These Fulanis herdsmen carrying gun have to protect themselves from wide animals and cattle rustlers. If not, their common wealth is in danger, as well as their lives.

Above all,the government have a major role to play on this. Yes there are Fulanis criminals but you don’t criminalize all of them.
