NSCDC: Two Illegal Petroleum Dealers Arrested
Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Akwa Ibom State Command arrested two suspects for illegal dealing on crude oil products. This Petroleum product is suspected to be Automative Gas Oil (AGO) aka diesel.
Report gotten to us, indicated that the suspect, hid the adulterated diesel underneath and in between packs of Youghurt drinks while moving it to somewhere else.
The suspects names are Aliyu Mohammadu, 27 years. And Sani Mohammedu, 25 years. They were paraded before the press at NSCDC Exhibit Yard Uyo. This happened on 28th April, Wednesday.
Uyo State Commandant, Adekunle Fadeyi stated that the truck came into the state on Friday, April 23, from Ahoada in Rivers State. Although the suspect succeeded passing every check point on the way, they were finally captured by vigilant NSCDC operatives.
He further stated that his men flagged down the truck filled with AGO, even in sack bag.
The AGOs were clandestinely covered by hundreds of packs of youghurt drinks”. They were discovered at Calabar/Itu highway.
Investigation is still ongoing and the suspect would be charged to court as soon as investigations are completed.
Some of the yogurts are actual yogurt but already contaminated with AGO. Therefore, will be destroyed to avoid endangering the lives of the citizens.
The Commandant General of the Corps, also made mention that NSCDC will not rest on its oars in riding Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria at large of every form of pipeline vandalism, illegal bunkering and other criminal activities.
Commandant General of the corps,Dr. Ahmed Abubakar also ask for support from the general public, asking them to disclose any criminal activity in their environment. To move the nation forward, we have to work together with everyone. For the safety of the nation, environment and our health.
