Defence Minister, Bashir Magashi must be sacked – PDP Demands

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) requested for immediate sack of the Defence minister, General Bashir Magashi. For asking unarmed Nigerians to defend themselves against armed bandits and terrorists.

On the National Assembly. This occurred Wednesday, February 17 2021. This was due to Magashi’s reaction towards the abduction of staff and students of Federal government college Niger state.

He went ahead to say that it’s not the responsibility of the military and security to keep civilians safe. The civilians too should protect themselves instead of running when they hear a gun shot or expecting police to rescue them always. If the criminals know that the civilians are bold and brave, they will run away with their guns.

The opposition party PDP described the minister statement as reckless, irresponsible and a confirmation that APC has surrendered to insecurity and corruption. And they have nothing in mind for the nation.

PDP also said that it is madness to say unarmed civilians are cowards. How can you call the people who voted you into office cowards? While you are doing nothing in your comfort zone, Abuja surrounded by so many police and military officers to protect you and your family. This shows how the nation have fallen. In fact, our nation is a failed nation under Buhari’s regime.

Here, the government can no longer perform its mission.

The worst part of it is that the president haven’t said anything about the issue and acted as if nothing happened. How can a democratic government think less about it’s nation. Where is the power of democracy?

PDP is reassuring Nigeria that they will make Nigeria great again, come 2023.

From the suffering, insecurity, poverty and high rate of death in the nation, what can save Nigeria?
