Vice President Of USA, Kamala Harris Makes History Today

Kamala Harris and Nancy Pelosi make history as the first women to lead Senate at US President Joe Biden’s first address to Congress.

April 28, the United State President, Joe Biden delivered his first joint address to Congress, with both Harris and Pelosi sitting behind him throughout his speech.

In the history of United State, it was the first time two women led a joint session of Congress in American. This haven’t happened in 245 years. In her role as the vice president, Harris presides over the Senate, while Nancy Pelosi represented the House of Representatives.

Not only did the president give his speech. He acknowledge and respected vice with these words: “Madam Speaker, Madam Vice President.”

No president has ever said those words from this podium

Sitting behind him at the right side is vice president Kamala Harris, who is also the first Black, South Asian person to hold the role. And at the president’s left is Pelosi, who became the first woman in her role in 2007.

In this historical event, the White House chief of staff, Ron Klain noted the historic nature of the dais seating. This he reviewed last week in his speech. This was the speech:

For the first time in American history, behind the President when he speaks, will be two women: a woman vice president, and woman speaker of the House. Presidents have been addressing Congress since George Washington did it,” Klain said during a conversation with Georgetown University’s Institute of Politics and Public Service, adding, “It wasn’t until 14 years ago that the first time one of those seats was filled by a woman. So it took a long time to get to that milestone. Fourteen years later, for the first time, there’ll be two women behind the President.”
