My First Experience Episode 2

MY FIRST EXPERIENCE

All through the remaining hours of the day, Mike couldn’t get his mind off Jane. He had so many questions in his mind concerning the girl he helped yesterday. He was lost in thoughts as he kept thinking of his earlier conversation with Jane to the point he forgot he was with friends.

After a while, his friends noticed his sudden change in attitude and asked him what the problem was.
Mike: I don’t know man, it’s just that girl we helped the other day. The one we rushed to the hospital. He replied.

“What happened to her?” One of his friends asked.

Mike: I can’t say. I don’t even know why I’m thinking about her.

My G! Are you sure you haven’t fell in love with her already? You no dey take eye see anything wey wear skirt. His friend said. (They all laughed)

Mike: She’s totally different. Different from other girls. I want to meet her again. Already missing her.

As they kept communicating, Mike asked his friends to help him find out everything about Jane. Within 2 days, his friends gave him every information they got. And reported everything to Mike.

After some weeks, Jane was returning from church service when she saw Mike in his car, parked opposite the fellowship building. She went to greet him, “Hi” she greeted. “How have you been?” Mike asked.

Jane: I’m fine and awesome. Today, you are not smoking, that’s awesome. She said smiling

Mike: There is a new Cafeteria nearby, their food is very delicious. And so many students goes there alot. Would like to go out and have dinner with me tonight?

Jane: I haven’t gone out on a date with any guy before and wouldn’t start now. she replied.

Mike: It’s just a dinner, and it’s harmless. Also, students visit there alot. You have nothing to be scared of. He said with a smile on his face.

After much persuasion, Jane agreed to have a dinner with Mike. After some hours, Mike visited her apartment and took her to one of the most expensive restaurants in school.

Jane: Is this place not too expensive” she asked.

Mike: Nope, it’s fine, I’ve got this. You don’t have to worry.

As they ate dinner, Mike couldn’t stop staring at Jane. Finally he started a conversation by asking “Are you always this reserved and calm?”,

Jane: That’s how I live my life. Yes. Do you attend church service always? she asked

Mike: To be honest, I can’t remember the last time I visited a church. I don’t think God loves me. When I see people going to church, I respect them alot. I’m sure God have given up on me.

Jane: (she laughed) Don’t speak like that, God loves us all. That’s the main reason Jesus died for everyone. When I mean everyone, that includes you. He died for us out of love, not because we deserve it, but because he loves us.
As Jane continued, Mike kept thinking about Jane. He was lost in thought that he forgot she was right in front of him.

“Where have this girl been all my life” he thought to himself”.

After dinner, Mike drove her home and left. As he was driving home, he kept thinking about Jane. “Am my in love?” He asked himself over and over again.

The following day, Mike recieved a text message from Jane, inviting him for a program in her church. Mike accepted her offer and started getting prepared to attend the program.

After the church service, Mike waited for her at the parking lot to take her home. When he sighted Jane, he was filled with joy.

Mike: You did a great job in service today. I didn’t know you can sing. Your voice is sweeter than an angelic voice.

Jane: (She laughed) Have you you heard an angel sing before? You are funny.

I’m waiting so I can drop you at your destination.Mike said. Ok, please give me some minutes, let me close the church door and take my bag. Jane replied.

At this point, Mike was convinced that he was in love with Jane. The love was too much, that he totally lost interest in every other girl in campus. Jane was the only thing in his mind and he was scared to reveal his feelings towards her. Unlike Mike who can boldly walk up to any girl was scared. He didn’t want anything that will make Jane avoid him.

Few weeks passed, he decided to tell Jane his feelings. They were having lunch together, when Jane asked

Jane: How do you feel now knowing that God loves you? Mike replied awkwardly, I feel blessed”.

After lunch

Mike: There’s something I want to say he said.

Jane: I’m listening.

Mike: I’ve wanted to say this for a long time but, I don’t want to loose you. Jane, I’m in love with you.
