I Screamed For Help But The Driver Locked His Doors So No One Could Hear Me

A young lady has taken to her instagram page to narrate what transpired between her, her sibling and a Bolt Driver this morning. In her post, the lady revealed that she and her sister ordered for a ride today. They were going from Ogba to Ojota. So when she opened the Bolt Application, she saw N1,100 as the estimated cost to be paid for her trip.

She said when the trip started, she noticed that the driver was passing a different route which is a busy road. She said that she called the attention of the driver and told him that there is a better and faster route that he could have taken. She said the driver did not even respond to her. When they got to the middle of the road where there was traffic, she then told the cab man that it is the exact amount that she saw on the app as the estimated charges that she would pay with no additional money.

They got to their destination (Ojota Bustop) and the driver ended the trip and told her to pay N1,300 because the traffic caused a slight delay during the trip. She insisted that she told him to take a faster route and he did not listen to her, so she would not pay more than the normal charges (1,100). So, she gave him the 1,100 but the driver rejected it and the next thing he did was lock all the doors of the car so they would not be able to get out. She said that they were screaming in his car but he did not answer them. Luckily for them, a LASTMA officer was passing at that time.

When the driver saw the Officers, he opened the door and when one of the sisters jumped out, he refused to let the other one out. The lady said she was still stuck in the car at that time but her sister called the attention of the LASTMA immediately she got out. The driver later stopped and attacked both of them. She said the driver punched the two of them. She posted pictures of her swollen face to show everyone how the Driver injured her and her sister before taking off.

It is worrisome that some men are treating women with no respect at all in the society. Imagine if it wasn’t in the middle of the road, what would the Driver had done to them, just because of additional charges. The lady has called for the help of every well-meaning Nigerian to help her get justice that she deserves.
